Introducing geoQguide:
the constraints master
geoQguide is a key tool that animates and brings life to QGIS on analyzing and managing constraints for renewable energy land developement:
-
It provides access to a large curated collection of public analysis layers (online WMS and downloadable files).
-
Converts extensive registry details (200 parcels and more) into a target plot vector geometry with one click.
-
Automatically evaluates overlap between analysis layers and target plot - for hundreds of layers.
-
Automatically retrieves Open Street Map elements (roads, waterways, substations, pipelines, power lines, etc.), and draws buffer zones around them.
-
Automatically carries out a slope analysis on the target plot, visualizing the direction of slope (south, north, et.) and the acceptable slope levels (green-yellow-red gradient).
-
Enables to process each constrain semi-automatically, by classifying the related impact as red (exclude), yellow (cost/risk), or grey (no impact - for reference only), and to identify and vectorize the corresponding areas automatically.
-
Allows to save the analysis directly within the QGIS project, make it easy to share with third parties for feedback and comments.

Curated catalogue with hundreds of analysis layers
One click conversion from registry details to vector
Automated indentification of overlapping constraints
Retrieval of roads, waterways, pipelines, substations - w/ buffer

Slope and gradient analysis with smart green-yellow-red scale
Assisted red-yellow classification and automated vectorization of constraints
Convenient packaging of entire analysis data and layers in a single portable QGIS file
